A Farewell Message From Fr. John Paul

by Fr. John Paul Aisu  |  03/02/2025  |  Weekly Reflection

Dear Christians of Our Lady of Joy Catholic Parish,

Greetings to you all. Many of you have been asking about me. I am Fr. John Paul Aisu of Soroti Catholic Diocese in Uganda. I was ordained on July 31, 2010. I come from a family of 7 siblings, four girls and 3 boys. Unfortunately, one girl passed on at the age of 12.

I am a pastor at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Parish, a new Parish in the Soroti Diocese. I will be leaving on March 13th to go back to Uganda. Let me take this opportunity to extend my appreciation to each and every one of you for your welcoming words since I arrived here. Thanks for your words of appreciation and all the encouraging words I have received from you. I appreciate all the fun we have had. The outings I have made with some of you.

Thank you for inspiring me with your spirituality, the daily mass attendance, the active participation of all different religious clubs and movements. You have inspired and impressed me with the attention you pay at the Celebration of the Eucharist. You have shown me great faith. Please keep it up and do not allow this faith to die in your hands.

I have enjoyed every bit of my stay here in this Parish. Thank you so much. I will live to cherish the Christian faith and love experienced here.

Now, I will be leaving soon. Let me share with you the challenge back at home. I am living in a temporary house, and I have a project of constructing a rectory. The total cost of the project is $90,000. Once the project is totally funded, it will be 6 months to 1 year to finish. I would like to kindly and humbly request you to help me with any financial support you can toward this project. To donate, please make checks payable to Our Lady of Joy and write on the subject line: Rectory Project for Fr. John Paul Aisu.

God bless you all! Lots of Love and Blessings.
