6th Sunday of Easter
by Fr. Jess Ty | 05/25/2025 | Weekly ReflectionDear Family of God,
This weekend we will hear Jesus teaching us that “WHOEVER LOVES ME WILL KEEP MY WORD, AND MY FATHER WILL LOVE HIM, AND WE WILL COME TO HIM AND MAKE OUR DWELLING WITH HIM.” (JOHN 14:23)
“The desire for God is written in the human heart, because man is created by God and for God; and God never ceases to draw man to himself.
Only in God will he find truth and happiness he never stops searching for:” (CCC 27) St. Augustine: “for you have made us for yourself, and our heart is restless until it rests in you.”
The ultimate goal of our lives is to be in communion with the Holy Trinity in heaven. We can experience a foretaste of this union by loving God above all things and by loving one another as Jesus loved us. When we “keep His word”, that is, His New Commandment, we give our proof that we love Him. And the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit will dwell within us. We will participate in the Divine life of God even now; we will be in communion with the Holy Trinity. That is why at every Mass after examining ourselves of being free from mortal sin; we receive Holy Communion, the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus our Lord. He himself will help us to love as he loves us.
May the Blessed Virgin Mary, who carried Jesus in her womb help us all to welcome the Holy Trinity in our hearts.
Yours in Christ through Mary Immaculate.
