Members of the Funeral Care and Prayer team attend and assist with Funeral Masses at Our Lady of Joy. Through their presence and prayer, the volunteers assist families at the time of a funeral by offering hospitality and showing support and concern to those who are grieving. Volunteers are needed to be present at the funeral liturgy and funeral receptions, if required. We serve as Eucharistic Ministers, Lectors, Greeters, etc., as needed. Volunteers may help with the planning of the funeral as well. This is an opportunity to show those who are grieving that the Our Lady of Joy Community cares about them and prays with them.
