Altar Servers assist the priest during the Masses year round. They help by lighting candles, holding the Sacramentary, preparing the altar and keeping things in order so that Mass flows smoothly. Their prayerfulness and reverential attitude at Mass is helpful and establishes them as leaders among their peers. This stewardship role is open to both boys and girls who are at least in the sixth grade and have received the Sacraments of Baptism, 1st Holy Communion and Confirmation. Formation is provided.
