Fr. Patrick Farley, Parochial Administrator
Dear Parish Family,
A very warm welcome back to all of our
Preschool families who begin the new school year this
week! Our Kindergarten is off to a great start in Mrs.
Furrier's class. As always, whenever I have a chance
to visit Kindergarten, I enjoy their innocence, their
goodness and pure hearts. Jesus called a child into His
midst, blessed the child and told the Apostles, ―Unless
you become like one of these, you cannot enter the
Kingdom.‖ Parents, you have plenty of stories of how
they behave unlike angels at times, but when they are
good, children are a shining example of love, trust, and
often bring moments whereby you can't hold your
laugh!
I am pleased to see that many of the children
are able to say the basic Catholic prayers. I am always
encouraged when I am able to visit and pray with
God's little ones.
Welcome Sunday
All new families are invited to our next Welcome Sunday Luncheon Sunday, September 12, 2010 after the 11:00 am Mass in the Parish Center. Come and meet the Pastor and staff leaders in our parish as well as other new families. All are welcome!
Please RSVP to the Parish office: (480) 488-2229

Music Ministry Meet & Greet
Attention all Vocalists and Instrumentalists!
The music ministry at our Lady of Joy is growing, and
we want you to be a part of it. Check out all of the
new and exciting ways to get involved this year:
VOCALISTS, our choir is gearing up for another amazing
season and we want you! We are looking for anyone
in the congregation with a love of the Lord, a passion
for singing, and the ability to carry a tune. ALL vocal
parts are welcome as we begin Choir Season 2010.
Middle and High Schoolers, consider becoming a part
of our brand new Youth Choir! The Youth Choir will
be singing each week at the 11:00am or 5pm Sunday
Mass (depending on availability). Kids in grades 1-5,
watch the bulletin in the coming months for important
information about our very own CHILDREN'S
CHOIR!
Musicians and Instrumentalists, you‟re next! Do you
play the piano, guitar, bass, keyboard, or the organ?
What about the violin, cello, flute, oboe, or trumpet?
If you play one of these instruments (or any other
instrument), we want to know about it. There may be
an entire orchestra sitting in our pews each week…join
the Music Ministry and together we will create a joyful
sound to the Lord!
*NEW* You don‟t have to be a singer or
instrumentalist to participate in the music ministry. If
you are a music enthusiast, not intimidated by sound
equipment, we are looking for volunteers for our
Sound Production Ministry to help us mix and master
the live sound at each Sunday Mass. Ages 12 and up.
Won't you join us at our Music Ministry Meet and
Greet on September 15th? No pressure, come as you
are and check out all of the exciting things that are
happening in the Music Ministry at Our Lady of Joy.
Refreshments will be served. If you can‟t make it but
would like more information, please contact Brandon
McLaughlin after Mass, by phone @ 480-346-3052 or via email. Visit the music page on this website for more details.
WE LOOK FORWARD TO MEETING YOU ON SEPTEMBER 15, 2010 @ 7PM IN THE CHURCH!
